Dishwashing Tablets
Introducing a Non Toxic Dishwashing Tablet That is Safe For You, Your Family And The Environment……
Would You Wash Your Dishes in Bleach
… And Then Eat Off Them?
NO You Wouldn’t, But That is Just ONE of The Toxic Chemicals You Are Probably Cleaning Your Dishes in Right Now!
Chlorine bleach is highly caustic, its fumes can irritate eyes, nose and airways, and it can be fatal if swallowed. If combined with other cleaners that contain ammonia it can cause toxic gases to form.
It is also bad for the environment. Chlorine bleach combines with carbon molecules, creating harmful organochlorines such as dioxin. Dioxin is a known carcinogen. When you open your dishwasher, the harsh detergents and chlorine are released in the air as a vapour, and they also enter your lungs.
Its not Your Fault That You Don’t Know This!
If you have a look on the packaging of supermarket dishwashing tablets, you will probably NOT find a detailed ingredient list That’s because no one wants you to know that you are eating bleach and other toxic chemicals!!
This worried me so I decided to develop my own dishwashing tablets so then I would know I was not poisoning myself or my family.
Yes you can still clean without using potentially harmful products!!
The proof is in the photos below…

If you have been searching for a safe, non toxic, environmentally safe dishwashing tablet, then put your mind at ease because you are in the right place and I will tell you all about this amazing break though shortly but first consider this…..
Did you know Automatic Dishwashing powders are the most reported cause of POISONING, HARMING OR KILLING OF YOUNG CHILDREN.
Do you know what is in them?
They usually contain bleach. Bleach content is CORROSIVE and may burn the mouth and throat. Repeated and/or prolonged exposure to vapours or dust may cause lung irritation, central nervous system disorders, and in severe cases, death!!
The Centre of Science in Public Interest revealed that dishwashing detergents have caused more household poisonings than any other cleaning product in the home. When washing your dishes, these chemicals are being released into your breathing space especially when you open the door on your dishwasher.
….and we are washing our dishes and cutlery in this stuff then serving our families meals on it…..
I have spent the last 5 years reading and researching what chemicals we should be avoiding. Let me tell you my story……
All of my four children suffer from eczema and allergies and I had already started to eliminated chemicals from our household.
I even redeveloped a non toxic product to wash clothes, so when it came to looking for products for my kitchen, I wanted a product that did not contain any Harsh Chemicals, Environmentally safe and would not leave a Toxic residue on the dishes.
When I was researching other products I discovered how many dishwashing tablets contain some really nasty and toxic chemicals like bleach and phosphates, I even read some have contained formaldehyde (a known carcinogen).
I started to search the internet for something toxic free but was frustrated that the ingredient list was fluffed over and said things like ‘plant based non-ionic tensio-active surfactants’…. That meant nothing to me, it wasn’t an ingredient and I wanted to know exactly what was in these tablets.
I was amazed to see a company that called their Dishwashing tablet all-natural but it contained two lots of phosphates (amongst other things):
- trisodium phosphate
- sodium hexametaphosphate
Here’s a brief explanation of what phosphates can do……
Phosphates are water-softening mineral additives that were once widely used in laundry and dishwashing detergents to enhance the performance of surfactants ( detergent). They can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea if ingested, and because it is corrosive, it can cause severe skin irritation. When phosphates enter waterways, they act as a fertilizer, spawning overgrowth of algae. This overabundance of aquatic plant life eventually depletes the water’s oxygen supply, killing off fish and other organisms. WARNING: Australian standards allow a product to contain -0.05% of phosphate and still claim the NP(No Phosphates) symbol.
Does that sound Natural?? I think not! How could they claim that was “all-Natural”. I was shocked! So I decided to develop my own dishwashing tablets and make sure the ingredients will not poison my family or the environment. I also spoke to many other people who said they would love to try a toxic free dishwashing tablet so Miracle Wash Dishwashing Tablets were born.
So what is in the Dishwashing Tablets?
I surveyed over 500 of my customers to find out what was most important to them, if they preferred Environmentally Safe ingredients, Toxic Free, Money Savings or water savings.
81% wanted Toxic free
65% wanted Environmentally Safe
62% wanted Water Saving
49% wanted to Save money
Some could not understand why they couldn’t have an Environmentally safe and toxic free product that was as cheap and cleaned just as well as supermarket brands.
Let me quickly explain it….To get an Environmental Toxic free product, I need to choose ingredients that will not harm your health or our environment, these ingredients are gentle and so they may not clean as well as what bleach will because bleach is a harsh chemical. Caustic Soda is abrasive so it will clean better than Soda ash but caustic soda is harmful.
So what I did was find the least toxic ingredients that was safe for you but also cleaned your dishes. I admit that some washes wont be as clean as your supermarket brands but the majority of time they do a good job. If you follow the instructions and keep your machine clean and use rinse aid, they will clean the dishes just as good.
Plus I wanted to keep the price competitive to supermarket brands so I sacrificed my GP so it doesn’t cost you a fortune.
Miracle Wash Dishwashing Tablet Ingredients: Sodium Carbonate, (soda ash), Citric Acid, Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), Sodium Sulfate, Sodium metasilicate, Sodium citrate, Lauryl Glucoside(is plant-derived mild cleanser). Laureth-3, Cellulose Gum.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are they wrapped individually?
I didn’t want them wrapped in dissolvable plastic (what is that stuff made off anyway?) so they are wrapped in sets of 10 tablets so they stay fresh. Keep them away from moisture and the lid sealed (or you can put them in your own sealed plastic container).
What if they don’t fit in the dishwashing dispenser?
Just put them in the cutlery holder.
Can I use cold water?
You can but you will get a better result if you use hot water. The tablets do not contain enzymes that break down the protein in grease so hot water will help remove the grease and oil.
Do I have to use Rinse Aid?
Rinse Aid will help keep your glasses clean, Miracle Wash is developing a toxic free Rinse Aid and until then you can use vinegar as a rinse aid.
Do I have to clean my machine?
You will get a better wash if your machine is kept clean, wipe out with bicarb soda and clean the filter regularly.
Wouldn’t the rinse cycle clean off any residue on the dishes?
I thought so too but Unfortunately I have found half dissolved powder and tablets in the dispenser so it shows me that it doesn’t. Also think of the water that is going out into the eco system, its full of phosphates and other nasties that are harmful to the plants, soil and water ways.
Can I use two tablets per wash?
Yes, if you have a full dishwasher and they are really dirty, try putting in two tablets.
- You do not rinse or scrap your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher! – some food may remain on the plate if it has been left overnight and not rinsed.
- You cant be bothered using Rinse aid – using rinse aid will leave your glasses sparkling.
- You never clean your dishwasher – because these tablets don’t contain the harsh abrasive chemicals that will strip everything, your machine will need the occasional clean.
I do not want you to waste your money so please if you do not do any of those points mentioned above – you are best off sticking with your expensive, toxic supermarket brands because you will be only disappointed and that’s the last thing I want.
